Can You Use MagSafe and Qi2 Chargers on a Pixel? Pixel 10 and 11 Limits (25W / 15W) and the 35W Adapter Rule

Pixels can now snap onto a charger with magnets, just like iPhones. The Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 series support Qi2 magnetic charging, and Google sells its own “Pixelsnap Charger.” So do MagSafe and Qi2 chargers sold for iPhone work? The short answer: any charger marked “Qi2” works. Only the Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 11 series reach 25W, and that needs a 35W-or-higher adapter. This guide walks through the per-model limits so you know what to buy.

The short answer: for your Pixel

  • Pixel 11 series, Pixel 10 Pro XL (up to 25W): a Qi2 25W (Qi2.2) charger plus a 35W+ adapter. UGREEN Zapix (Qi2 25W). AmazonRakuten
  • Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro Fold (up to 15W): Qi2 15W is enough—your existing MagSafe or Qi2 charger works.
  • No adapter yet: a 45W USB-C adapter meets the 25W condition (35W+). Anker Nano Charger (45W). AmazonRakuten

How to decide: your Pixel's limit (25W / 15W) → is the charger Qi2 (Qi2.2 for 25W) → adapter wattage.
Verification: based on the Google Store's official specs and makers' stated figures, not measurements.

The short answer: per-model limits (Google Store)

The Google Store lists these limits when charging on the Pixelsnap Charger:

PixelWireless limitAdapter needed
Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, 11 Pro Fold, Pixel 10 Pro XLUp to 25WUSB-C power adapter 35W or higher (or the Google 45W USB-C Charger)
Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro FoldUp to 15WUSB-C power adapter 20W or higher

The Pixelsnap Charger itself charges Qi2.2-certified devices at up to 25W and Qi2.0-certified devices at up to 15W. The power adapter is sold separately.

How it works 1: Qi2 is a shared standard, so iPhone chargers work too

Qi2 adds magnetic alignment to the common Qi wireless standard. It’s based on Apple’s MagSafe, and the Pixel 10 and 11 series support it. So chargers and power banks marked “Qi2” work on a Pixel even if they’re sold for iPhone (MagSafe vs Qi2).

Decision: before buying, check for “Qi2” on the label. Older products marked only “MagSafe-compatible” may not be Qi2-certified.

How it works 2: 25W needs the phone, charger, and adapter to line up

As with iPhone’s Qi2 25W, a Pixel gets 25W only when three conditions are met (upgrade from Qi2 15W to 25W?):

  1. A 25W-capable Pixel (Pixel 11 series, Pixel 10 Pro XL)
  2. A Qi2 25W (Qi2.2) charger (plain “Qi2” usually means 15W)
  3. A 35W-or-higher adapter (Google Store footnote)

Decision: the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro Fold top out at 15W, so a 25W charger won’t make them faster. Even on a 25W-capable model, a 20W or 30W adapter won’t deliver 25W.

How it works 3: thick cases weaken both the magnet and the charge

Magnetic Qi2 depends on distance and alignment between phone and charger. A thick case without magnets can stop it sticking, let it slip, and add loss—and heat. Use a Pixelsnap (Qi2) case or go caseless (the iPhone version of this: does your case need to be MagSafe-compatible?).

Decision table: upgrade or keep what you have?

A thin Qi2 25W pad: for 25W on a Pixel 11 or 10 Pro XL, pick one rated Qi2 25W. Adapter sold separately.

FAQ

Q. Can Apple’s MagSafe Charger charge a Pixel? A. It depends on whether that MagSafe Charger is Qi2-certified—check the product page or box for “Qi2.” Speed is then set by the Pixel’s limit (25W / 15W) and the adapter.

Q. Does this work on a Pixel 9 or earlier? A. A Pixel with Qi wireless charging will charge when placed on it, but it won’t hold magnetically. Magnetic charging is for the Pixel 10 and 11 series.

Q. Does 25W wear the battery faster? A. Battery wear comes mainly from heat and time spent near full charge. Avoiding heat buildup matters more (is fast charging bad for your battery?).
